New Study Finds Nutrient Helps Preserve Bone in Women, Retailer Reports
Freeport, ME (PRWEB) December 01, 2015 -- Royal River Natural Foods — a locally-owned, independent natural health store in Freeport, Maine — reports a new study that found post-menopausal women who took the nutritional supplement creatine, along with resistance training for a year, had more new bone at the thigh than women who trained but did not take creatine.
The report is part of the December 2015 issue of Natural Insights for Well Being®, which Royal River Natural Foods publishes each month to help inform the Freeport community of the scientifically-proven benefits of good nutrition. Also in the December issue, the nutritional supplement resveratrol appeared to slow the progression of mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease in men and women after one year. Additionally, another new study showed children who were deficient in vitamin B12 were more than twice as likely to repeat a grade in school compared to kids with adequate vitamin B12 levels, among other important findings.
“At every stage of life, making sure you have good nutrition can make a positive difference, from preserving bone, sound, mind, or doing better in school,” said Becky Foster, Royal River Natural Foods’ supplement manager. “New findings this month include studies from scientific journals such as the ‘Journal of the American Medical Association - Ophthalmology,’ the journal ‘Neurology,’ and ‘Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise,’ among others.”
Natural Insights for Well Being® is free, and Royal River Natural Foods invites all those who wish to gain more valuable nutrition knowledge to stop in and pick up the December issue and meet the friendly, knowledgeable staff.
