Jim Muri, a former military officer and business process analyst, has completed his eighth book “Growing Milo”: an enriching and moving story of a young woman and a man grappling with life-threatening difficulties.

“Milo is a sugar crop of the sorghum family. It is grown extensively in the Midwest including on the farm of the troubled young woman in this tale,” Muri said. “It is also the name of the person telling this tale of how, by helping the young woman deal with her life-threatening difficulties, she in turn grew him into a better man. The title, then, is a double entendre. Readers will reflect upon their own life experiences as they decide whether the young woman or the young veteran is the primary character.”

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Muri’s poignant tale takes the reader inside the obstacles many of us face as we struggle to undo the damage we do to ourselves or that life sometimes deals us.
