What Inspired Financial Rock Star:

As soon as he started blogging about personal finance, Scott noticed the same questions popping up from readers, from ages 18 to 77. People wanted help with the basics of money.

“How can I get out of debt and break the paycheck-to-paycheck cycle?”

“What can I do to start saving?”

“How can I stay motivated when I’m paying off my credit cards and student loans?”

“How can I get my partner on board with spending less?”

“I wanted to create a show with real-life solutions and meet people where they are,” Scott said. “When I graduated college I had student loans, then added on a car loan, credit card debt, and eventually bought more house than I should have. I’ve lost tens-of-thousands-of dollars being a lousy investor. It’s all too common, and debt is a crushing feeling. I went from being a money moron to being completely debt free and now an early retiree. My goal is to provide my listeners with direction on how to avoid all the mistakes I made and empower them to live the life they deserve to live.”

The show features topics on getting out of debt, budgeting, money saving tips, beginning investing, answers to questions sent in by listeners, inspiring stories, and, of course, rock music.

“Money can be a boring topic, and most of the people talking about it are older, stuffy and talk over people’s heads,” Scott said. “I’m a young rock-n-roller, and I speak to people in a simple manner as if you’re sitting down with an old friend.”
