The handset has a high-resolution 2” color LCD display for simple, intuitive control. It has audio enhancing technology, including HD Voice, which produces natural, clear audio. It supports up to four simultaneous calls. Its rechargable battery lasts for up to 10 hours of talk time or 120 hours of standby time. Yet the handset still weighs only 120 grams.
The handset uses DECT to connect with the base station. DECT is a wireless communication standard that is used worldwide. It’s known for being highly reliable and secure. The handset has a range of 50m/165ft indoors or 300m/980ft outdoors from the base station.
The base station connects to the computer network over an Ethernet cable using SIP, allowing it to pair with a Polycom VVX Business Media series deskphone. The base station is PoE (Power over Ethernet) compliant and also comes with a power supply.
D60 handsets seamlessly integrate with VVX IP phones. They are provisioned and managed through the paired phones. Up to 5 cordless handsets can be paired to a single deskphone (VVX 300/310, 400/410, 500, and 600), simplifying the scalability of the system.
