Allied Environmental Services, Inc. (Allied), headquartered in Lima, Ohio, recently announced that the company’s field technicians have successfully completed training and certification of several Pipeline Maintenance Technician (PMT) Operator Qualifications. The PMT Operator Qualifications are regulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation and must be acquired by technicians prior to performing pipeline maintenance activities.

According to Gary Gootee, Industrial Services Manager of Allied, the field technicians have acquired certification in 15 disciplines including: purging and sealing, pipeline coating repair, excavation, inspection, and maintenance welding. “We have increased our pipeline maintenance capabilities considerably, which allows us to better serve our clients in the petro-chemical industry,” Gootee stated. “Allied is now able to complete entire projects in-house that typically would have involved two or three additional contractors. It gives Allied a definite advantage over our competitors, and it saves our clients money”, he added.

According to Gootee, Allied plans to add additional pipeline Operator Qualifications through 2016, as the company continues to grow its service offerings and customer base.
