ALOM, a global leader in supply chain management, has won the 2015 Green Supply Chain Award for the second consecutive year from Supply & Demand Chain Executive Magazine. This award recognizes ALOM for successfully embedding green and sustainable strategies at the core of its supply chain operations, and working to achieve measurable goals in environmental stewardship and operational efficiency.

During the last ten years, ALOM implemented significant sustainability practices and embedded sustainability throughout its business. ALOM is now halfway through an extended two-year program to implement best-in-class sustainability practices as part of its global facilities – such as electricity efficiency, recycling, environmentally friendly products, and reduced carbon footprint. In 2016, ALOM plans to install additional electric vehicle recharging stations for employee vehicles and implement a solar powered battery recharging system for material handling/lift equipment. ALOM does not use any fossil powered lift equipment in their operations.

In addition to its own internal practices, ALOM helps its clients implement programs that have a positive impact on the environment. These typically include sustainable print management and packaging reduction strategies, and sustainable product return, repair and recycling, as well as near-sourcing and near-manufacturing to minimize freight.
