CME Outfitters' Multiple Sclerosis Live and On Demand Webcast Featuring Expert Faculty and Patient Insights to Launch Live on December 9, 2015
Bethesda, Maryland (PRWEB) December 04, 2015 -- CME Outfitters (CMEO), a leading accredited provider in continuing medical education, announces its upcoming neuroscienceCME Live and On Demand activity: Risky Business: Understanding and Attenuating Risk Associated with Disease-Modifying Therapy in Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis. The live program will launch on Wednesday, December 9 at 12:00pm ET. Faculty experts will lead an interactive 90-minute discussion that will challenge clinicians to improve outcomes in their patients with multiple sclerosis. Neurologists, general practitioners, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other health care professionals interested in multiple sclerosis are encouraged to register.
While many providers may integrate their definition of the “patient voice” through hypothetical examples, CME Outfitters goes beyond the hypothetical and integrates actual responses and voices of patients with MS into this CME activity. CME Outfitters’ instructional design team connected with patient leaders who are active in social communities to gather and integrate actual responses from patients who are struggling with their disease. Our goal is to develop education that is concordant with patient values and reflects their lives in the community. Patient feedback gives the medical community a better understanding about what specific physician actions inspire change in patient behaviors. The CME Outfitters instructional designers and faculty utilize this information to evoke a critical conversation about the importance of merging clinical data with patient voices to best care for patients with multiple sclerosis.
CMEO’s Live and On Demand format is an online and mobile 90-minute, live, panel discussion that offers cutting-edge insights from national experts in multiple sclerosis, as well as insights from top patient influencers in the online multiple sclerosis community. This live interactive broadcast is a key differentiator and unique to CMEO online activities. Clinicians will have the opportunity to engage in real time with faculty and with peers through Q&A and Twitter. Included in the 90-minute activity is a special 30-minute Q&A segment designed to provide learners time to ask additional questions, interact with the experts, and share challenges via phone, by using the Q&A widget on the web interface, email, or Twitter.
At the end of this activity, participants should be able to:
• When selecting disease-modifying therapy for a specific patient, include the mechanism of action of each agent and its safety profile into the decision-making process.
• Identify factors that are of primary importance as targets of treatment in collaboration with your patients with MS.
• Incorporate a point-of-care decision tool that can be used to explain individual risk and to identify factors that may affect a patients’ risk tolerance as part of a patient-centered approach to care.
This activity is supported by educational grants from Genzyme, a Sanofi Company and Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. Click here for more information about the faculty, financial support, credit information, disclosures, and to register.
