‘The State of Talent Acquisition: A Crisis of Missed Opportunities’ recommends six critical actions to improve organizations’ struggles to attract and hire high-quality talent

Brandon Hall Group, the leading independent Human Capital Management research/analyst firm, released a new Talent Acquisition research report today that shows most organizations lack a cohesive strategy and are missing major opportunities for better recruiting results.

The State of Talent Acquisition: A Crisis of Missed Opportunities, developed and written by Principal Talent Acquisition Analyst Daria Friedman, says that only 10% of organizations have a clear talent acquisition strategy that aligns with business goals and integrates with talent management strategies.

The report summarizes key findings from two 2015 research efforts – the annual State of Talent Acquisition survey and the Talent Shortage and Hiring Practices survey – and offers six critical calls to action to help organizations improve their hiring strategy and processes. The report also includes the firm’s updated High-Performance Talent Acquisition Framework and High-Performance Talent Acquisition Business Impact Model.

“Many organizations attribute their inability to find and hire high-quality talent to a perceived talent shortage. But our research shows that most organizations struggle to attract talent regardless of talent supply,” Brandon Hall Group CEO Mike Cooke said. “This report takes a strong perspective that many hiring organizations are in a crisis of their own making by failing to take advantage of readily available strategies and processes that would make a significant dent in their talent needs. But we don’t stop there – we provide several ways organizations can change the status quo and make significant progress.”
