Kantola Training Solutions Provides Online Access to “Ten Warning Signs of Workplace Violence” Course
Mill Valley, Calif. (PRWEB) December 04, 2015 -- In response to a spate of recent workplace violence incidents, workplace training solutions provider Kantola Productions has made its Telly Award-winning online course “Workplace Violence: The Early Warning Signs - Employee Version” available for free for the month of December. This video has already helped more than 1,700 corporations, nonprofits and government agencies provide workplace violence training to their employees.
The employee version details the ten distinct warning signs that could foretell violence. It emphasizes the need for employees to speak up and get help if they notice anything that causes concern. This workplace violence online training tackles this important topic without sensationalizing, but by approaching the subject directly and honestly. Realistic scenes in a variety of settings provide examples of the learning points and model appropriate responses.
In 2013, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported more than 23,000 significant injuries due to assault at work. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration reports that roughly 2 million workers a year are affected by some form of workplace violence. The Federal Bureau of Investigation estimated that non-fatal workplace violence in 2011 cost the American workforce approximately $36 billion per year.
“Workplace violence is an issue that can affect any organization, of any size, in any industry. The course’s subject matter expert, Stephen White, is a leading authority on workplace violence,” said Kantola’s CEO Allen Noren. “Dr. White draws from 20 years of experience and thousands of threat cases for Fortune 500 companies to dispel some of the common myths about workplace violence, while providing a better understanding of what you should be aware of to help keep your workplace safe.”
The training is also available for employees and managers, and in English and Spanish, as a DVD. It is accompanied by a 34-page booklet, Workplace Violence: The Early Warning Signs, that reinforces the topics covered in the workplace violence training video.
All Kantola training videos are available as DVDs and online through a custom, feature-rich Learning Management System (LMS) for free, or as SCORM files for existing LMSs. Kantola’s free LMS offers rapid deployment, 24 x 7 access, easy tools for managing groups and curriculum, automated learner reminder emails to keep mandatory training on track, and a progress tracking and reporting dashboard to keep track of activity and completions.
