Cane Bay Partners VI LLLP’s Co-CEO, David Johnson Sponsors Two Prize-Winning Teams in the 8th Annual SXM Budget Marine Wahoo Tournament
Christiansted, USVI (PRWEB) December 11, 2015 -- Competitive sport fishing teams ‘Living the Dream’ and ‘Turn and Burn’ competed in the 8th Annual Budget Marine Wahoo tournament in St. Martin and left their mark, winning a number of prizes. They were both sponsored by Cane Bay Partners VI, LLP’s Co-CEO David Johnson.
The fishing tournament began with a captains briefing on the evening of October 30th. On the 31st, the competing teams took to the waters of St. Martin to begin their two-day fishing competition. The competition concluded on the evening of November 1st at Bobby’s Marina waterfront, where the Budget Marine Fishing Tournament organizers awarded over $12,000 worth of cash and prizes.
David Johnson himself, with his fiancée Jackie Goodyear, competed with team Turn and Burn, along with Tyler Maltby, Rob Olive, Jason Foust, and Elyk Eiojal. The team emerged victorious, winning second place overall, as well as a number of additional prizes. Jackie Goodyear was awarded the prize for the Best Female Angler. She reeled in 15 fish, as well as the largest king fish of the tournament, which weighed in at a record-breaking near 45 pounds. Team Living the Dream was also a success story, winning the award for the largest Mahi Mahi.
David Johnson was extremely proud of his teams’ fishing expertise. “I am grateful for the opportunity to sponsor these excellent teams, and am honored to be a part of their success!”
These were not the teams’ first times competing in the competition, but this particular SXM Budget Marine Wahoo Tournament was the most rewarding for them so far. They continue to celebrate their wins, and look forward to future competitions.
