MONTREAL, Canada (PRWEB) December 05, 2015 -- According to the 2015 Global Peace Index Report, the world is less peaceful today than it was in 2008, with the impact of terrorism being one of the leading indicators. This concern poses the questions: What can one do to mitigate violence on an individual level? What actions can be done today that will leave a lasting impact of peace and prosperity?
In Sukhvinder Jutla’s new book, “Peace through Personal Growth,” he explores the psychology behind violence in the name of religion and offers advice on how everyone can become an active contributor to creating a better world.
Jutla tells the story of Sheikh Umeed, an Imam living in New York, who discovers his son has been involved with terrorist activities. His story helps readers understand what drives ordinarily peaceful humans to extreme violence, in other words, acknowledging injustice without condoning terrorism.
Jutla suggests that instead of searching for the cause of today’s violence, people should channel their energy into improving themselves, thus growing mentally and spiritually.
“I am convinced that anger and violence are not the answer and the path to power is through peace and personal growth,” Jutla said. “My hope is that my book has a far-reaching benefit for the individual reader and the world.”
“Peace through Personal Growth” serves as a thoughtful narrative that aims to evoke change and empower those wanting to make a difference.
