...we were so happy to join an event series as impactful as the Abilities Expo that's also working to shatter stereotypes and enable people to shine. --Andrew Hebert, vice president of EarQ

The HearStrong Foundation recently attended its first Abilities Expo in Washington, D.C., to shine a light on the importance of prioritizing hearing health check-ups and to challenge the way attendees viewed hearing loss and its various technology solutions.
Throughout the event on December 4-6, representatives of the HearStrong team provided free hearing health screenings to the men, women, and children in attendance as well as discussed the many positive effects hearing better can have on one’s overall health and well-being.
Recent studies show those with hearing loss who utilize hearing technology experience greater self-confidence, improved relationships, higher income potential, and a lower risk of associated health conditions such as depression and dementia.
For more than 30 years, the Abilities Expo has served to present new technologies, solutions, and opportunities to people with disabilities, their families, seniors, veterans, and healthcare professionals.
Other featured services at this year’s event included adaptive sports, assistance animals, and the latest advancements in accessible homes and cars.
“Our organization was founded with a mission to shatter stigmas and change the way people view champions today,” said Andrew Hebert of the HearStrong Foundation. “That’s why we were so happy to join an event series as impactful as the Abilities Expo that’s also working to shatter stereotypes and enable people to shine.”
