Great Freedom Adventures, an expert provider of bike tours and active vacations, announces two new four-day bicycling itineraries for 2016 that feature panoramic landscapes in Vermont and in a bit of New Hampshire too. Drawing from expertise gained during 35 years of biking Vermont’s back roads, itineraries were crafted that quickly get travelers right into some of the most scenic landscapes in the state. Participants can choose from six 2016 departure dates during the spring, summer and fall: June 6, July 11, August 15, October 3, October 7 and October 11.

Guests on the Beguiling Woodstock VT and Beyond Bike Tour discover the renowned beauty of the town of Woodstock and the verdant hills and valleys surrounding the town. Stops are made at the Quechee Gorge, Simon Pearce Glassblowing, the Calvin Coolidge State Park, Coolidge Homestead, Plymouth Cheese Factory and Long Trail Brewery. The last day of the tour includes a short hike to a hilltop offering panoramic views of farmland and distant mountain ridges.

The Rivers and Ridgelines Cycling Tour in Vermont and New Hampshire highlights the natural beauty of the sparkling rivers and radiant ridgelines surrounding the towns of Randolph and Norwich, VT. On the last day of the tour, guests will cross the Connecticut River to discover the lovely town of Hanover, NH, home to Dartmouth College. Additional tour highlights include a private beer tasting of Vermont craft beers, stops at country stores in small hamlets, the opportunity to shop in upscale boutiques and fine art galleries and a stop at the award-winning King Arthur Baking School and Store.

“What’s remarkable about these Vermont bike tours is that in the space of just four days, guests will encounter surprisingly diverse scenes, from ridgelines with long-distance views to serene bog lands popular with moose, to charming Vermont villages,” says Jeanne Rummel, Great Freedom Adventures founder and tour designer.

Both tours feature lodging in fine inns that provide a quintessential Vermont experience. The inns offer numerous amenities such as indoor or outdoor pools, hot tubs, taverns, restaurants, exercise rooms, in-room fireplaces, marble baths and fine linens.

Tours include dinners at the region’s best restaurants and offer locally sourced foods. Guests will further savor the tastes of Vermont while sampling treats such as maple syrup, maple butter, freshly pressed cider, cheddar cheese and craft beer. Many of these foods are produced in or near the very areas that cyclists will pedal through.

Tour packages include lodging, most meals, bike rental, admissions, guides, van support, daily snacks and drinks, maps and more. Prices start at $1,395 per person based on double occupancy.
