Local digital agency Gate6 gave back to the Arizona entrepreneurial community by sponsoring the StartupConnect conference taking place Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at ASU SkySong, 1475 N. Scottsdale Rd.
As part of the sponsorship, Gate6 donated backpacks full of helpful resources to each of the seven business owners who were finalists in the Pitch Contest. Each contestant received a pack with items such as tools to help keep them organized, food gift cards for when they work late nights and don't want to cook, and technology gadgets to keep them charged and powered up when they need it. In addition to the backpacks, the winner of the Pitch Contest also received all of the proceeds from the StartupConnect conference ticket sales.
The Arizona Technology Council, the organization that put on the conference, asked Gate6 to get involved because the agency began as a small tech startup, much like the participants in the event.
“We’ve been there, so we know how it feels to be starting out, and have learned a lot along the way,” says Rebecca Heft, VP of strategy at Gate6. “Gate6 believes in the power of the Silicon Desert and we're driven to help more startups succeed here.”
Members of the Gate6 team presented the gift packs to the finalists on stage during the contest finale. To see pictures, as well as other interesting content, visit Gate6’s Facebook page.
