Announcing The Kinkade Family Foundation
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 14, 2015 -- The Kinkade family is proud to announce the launch of the The Kinkade Family Foundation. Nanette Kinkade, President of The Kinkade Family Foundation, and her four daughters created the foundation in 2012, shortly after the passing of Thomas Kinkade, world renowned Painter of Light. Nanette Kinkade and daughters Merritt, Chandler, and Winsor Kinkade are running the foundation along with Chuck Kelley, founder of Bridge Builders International, and Thomas' brother, Patrick Kinkade, who are serving on the Board of Directors. The mission of The Kinkade Family Foundation is to share Thomas Kinkade's art, support the arts and creative process, and pursue humanitarian works in the global community.
“We started the foundation to continue the positive aspects of Thomas' life and work. He had a passion for art, and helping others and our family shares those same values,” states Nanette Kinkade. “It excites me to be working with my family and seeing our efforts make a positive impact.”
Merritt Kinkade, Director of Operations and Outreach, says, “Our goal is to help stimulate the creative process and enrich lives. Creativity is foundational for mental and emotional health, and I feel it is important to make art accessible to all people.”
“We are proud to be continuing the legacy of my father by sharing and supporting the arts with projects similar to ones we participated in while he was alive,” states Chandler Kinkade, Director of Finance and Administration.
Some exciting initiatives are in the works for The Kinkade Family Foundation including three upcoming projects. This month, the family will be leading an art camp at an orphanage in Lima, Peru. In early 2016, The Kinkade Family Foundation will be showcasing two unique, never before seen art exhibits of Thomas Kinkade’s work. One exhibit will be held at Utah State University, and the other will be at Oregon State University.
