Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) December 10, 2015 -- OurSong chorus will present A (non)Traditional Holiday Concert on December 11th-12th at First Baptist Church of Decatur (308 Clairemont Ave, Decatur, GA 30030) as part of its dynamic 2015-2016 concert season. The audience will be delighted with new interpretations of traditional favorites such as O Come Emmanuel and Silent Night, together with some rather unusual hits like Jumble Bells and It’s Our Christmas Cheer! This is certainly a concert that will be remembered for years to come.
But what would the holidays be without the tradition of giving? OurSong’s December 11th-12th concerts will also serve to support Hagar’s House, Decatur Cooperative Ministry’s emergency shelter for women and children. As winter temperatures arrive, colds in the shelter increase. OurSong is asking all concertgoers to bring unopened donations of cold/cough medicine for both children and adults. Donations of medicine will help DCM keep shelter residents healthy and better able to overcome the challenges of homelessness.
Decatur Cooperative Ministry (DCM) is honored to receive the support of OurSong and will have representatives present on both December 11th and 12th to receive medicine donations and to answer questions about the organization.
OurSong is a 501(c)3 and is Atlanta’s only mixed gay and lesbian chorus. Its singers, directors, accompanists and non-singing members serve in a volunteer capacity. The chorus strives to provide gays and lesbians with opportunities for the performance of choral music in a supportive and affirming environment. OurSong’s concert season is made possible by the following corporate sponsors: Atlanta Water Gardens, Georgia’s Own Credit Union, Macy’s, dough re mi bakery, Radial Café and Starbucks.
