Provance will focus exclusively on the development and sale of software that is built specifically to provide IT Service Management capabilities on Microsoft® platforms.
Gatineau, Quebec (PRWEB) December 15, 2015
Provance® and AlfaPeople today announced a merger of technologies, human resources and other assets of the AlfaPeople IT Service Management division that will allow the consolidated pursuit of opportunity in the IT Service Management (ITSM) software segment. The transaction will see the transfer of AlfaPeople’s ITSM software product, licensees, and supporting personnel and assets to Provance in exchange for equity.
Operating under the Provance name, the company will focus exclusively on the development and sale of software that is built specifically to provide IT Service Management capabilities, including IT Asset Management, on Microsoft® platforms.
“The AlfaPeople ITSM software product was built leveraging our deep expertise as a leading Microsoft Dynamics partner and crafted to meet the exacting, real life IT service management needs identified in customer engagements,” said Michael Gaardboe, CEO of AlfaPeople. “The strong reputation of Provance as an independent software vendor and the company’s proven ability to successfully develop and sell Enterprise IT Asset Management software for over 18 years unleashes tremendous potential to bring the product to a vast and lucrative global market.”
“The differences and similarities between AlfaPeople and Provance epitomize the ideal partnership scenario,” said Gilles Lalonde, CEO of Provance. “While we have discrete but highly complementary technologies, sales channels and target markets that together represent tremendous potential for synergy, we also have in common both deep commitment and expertise with Microsoft platforms and, more importantly, are fundamentally like-minded in principle, corporate culture and business ethic.”
The AlfaPeople ITSM product and the Provance products, both individually and in packaged collections, will continue to be developed, supported and sold by the new merged entity under the Provance name. License terms and support and maintenance agreements for existing customers using the AlfaPeople ITSM and Provance products will not be affected.
Provance IT Service Management will be available through the existing Provance global partner channel and the global Dynamics channel.
Apart from the transfer of people and assets related to the ITSM software product, AlfaPeople remains a separate company. It will continue its successful practice as one of the largest Microsoft Dynamics partners in the world with more than 450 employees in 15 countries focused on Microsoft Dynamics AX and CRM and become a global partner for the ITSM solution.
AlfaPeople is one of the largest Microsoft Dynamics partners in the world as well as one of the leading Microsoft CRM ISV’s (Independent Software Vendors) who is named as a Microsoft Dynamics ERP Gold Partner, Microsoft Dynamics CRM Gold Partner, Microsoft 2015 Inner Circle member, Microsoft 2015 President’s Club, Microsoft CRM Partner of the year 2015, DK. Provance has been an independent vendor of IT management software since 1997. In 2010, Provance became the first company to develop and sell a third-party process management pack for Microsoft System Center, a first-of-its-kind plug-in to bring IT asset management and software asset management to Service Manager, the new IT service management component of the Microsoft IT management platform. The product innovation earned the company a nomination as one of three finalists for Microsoft Partner of the Year – Software Asset Management in 2011. Subsequently, Provance has developed additional products to enhance the native IT service management capabilities of Microsoft System Center – Service Manager. In addition to its individual products, Provance has also collaborated with other partners to create The Suite and The Essentials – two packaged collections of enhancements that supplement and extend the native IT service management functionality of Service Manager.
