Life Fitness®, the global leader in commercial fitness equipment, is transforming the traditional customer service model with the launch of LFconnect™ Protect, a digital service team that will diagnose and proactively fix issues in real time to provide industry-leading support for connected Life Fitness equipment.
“We bring our customers solutions, not problems. Error codes are just data points, you need an analytical mind to truly diagnose and solve a problem. That’s what LFconnect Protect provides,” said Tom Zentefis, Vice President, Global Customer Service at Life Fitness. “This new service leaves our customers free to focus on other areas of their businesses, saving time and money by maximizing equipment value and reducing downtime.”
Network and software issues are often a leading reason clubs are hesitant of connecting equipment to the Internet. While some equipment manufacturers offer online portals that identify issues, Life Fitness is moving to a proactive model of customer support and service to ensure every customer feels confident embracing the shift to connected products.
LFconnect Protect helps gyms run at their highest potential by executing the following steps:
- Life Fitness’ digital service professionals (agents) analyze real-time equipment diagnostics to uncover the root cause of issues related to motor controllers, connectivity and console connections.
- Agents then proactively contact the customer with a solution to solve the issue – many times before the customer even knows it exists.
- If the agents see a critical error – and if the equipment is under parts warranty – they can immediately dispatch a field service technician to the facility to fix the issue.
- Agents also remotely monitor trends and indicators of equipment stress that can affect values of equipment, and suggest and implement preventive maintenance on schedule so facilities are always running at their best.
No sign up or registration is needed to take advantage of LFconnect Protect. Customers simply connect their Life Fitness Elevation™, Integrity or Activate™ Series cardio equipment to the Internet to enable this industry-leading customer service support.
“Our customers work hard to be the best in the industry, and we want to ensure that our products and service reflect that,” said Chris Clawson, President at Life Fitness. “We don’t see equipment issues often but we know it is at those times when our customers need us most of all. If we find something that doesn’t look right while we analyze real-time equipment data with LFconnect Protect, we will let you know about it and take care of it so you can get back to running your center.”
Some Life Fitness customers have already experienced the benefits of LFconnect Protect in the early stages of the service’s rollout. Customer feedback to date has praised the benefits of proactive outreach, fast response times, clear and open communication and early troubleshooting on preventive machine maintenance. Initial reactions also indicate that LFconnect Protect leads to higher success rates for repairs, lower phone resolution time and less downtime for connected machines – as the LFconnect Protect team will know the specific parts needed to fix a machine on the first visit.
Placing a premium on satisfied customers, Life Fitness currently boasts the largest service organization in the fitness industry. The LFconnect Protect service is already in place for all correctly connected Life Fitness cardio platforms including the Discover™, Explore or Track+ Tablet Console, with no additional registration, enrollment or additional charge.
