Growth Accelerates as BigHand Surpasses 10,000 SaaS Users Milestone
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) December 11, 2015 -- Following the launch of their cloud-based BigHand Professional Edition less than 3 years ago, BigHand has announced it now supports more than 10,000 users in the cloud across 700 organizations worldwide, with demand for their software-as- a-service (SaaS) solution continually increasing.
BigHand is well known for their Enterprise software products which are predominantly used in larger law firms. They support 2,000 organizations with on-premise applications globally. However, BigHand identified that offering a cloud-based product could deliver significant value for smaller firms or firms preferring to operate in the cloud. Smaller firms face a combination of continued pressure on budgets, a competitive requirement to be as efficient as larger players, and an often limited in- house IT capability. BigHand Professional, a cloud-based voice workflow product is compatible with any smartphone or digital dictation device and is offered as an annual subscription, which works well for smaller law firms.
Cloud-based technologies are changing the way many smaller law firms process their work. Mark Watson, Director at Stubbins Watson Bryan discussed his firm's decision to move all of their systems to the cloud, including BigHand Professional dictation software. “With our previous system, our staff was not able to work on transcription jobs when they were not in the office or if working from home. Now, they can work from anywhere using BigHand in the cloud. Our staff can still be efficient wherever they are working and those dictating can do so anywhere.”
Eric Wangler, President North America Legal comments, “Our demand for cloud-based applications has been growing steadily, and while it began primarily in the smaller firm space, we are now getting more and more requests from larger firms that want to host their applications in the cloud. In either instance, our BigHand SaaS product is a perfect fit for these firms.”
Lee Prout, Analyst at Megabuyte, an independent market intelligence firm that tracks leading international software, IT services and telecom companies, commented: “Less than 3 years ago BigHand launched an entry-level cloud product based on satisfying demand they had identified in the small firm space, and now have 25% of all their customer organizations on a SaaS platform. It looks like a good initial approach in order to build expertise, and the next piece of BigHand’s SaaS story now appears to be a growing interest for Enterprise Cloud solutions from larger law firms. While demand for Enterprise Cloud remains very much in its infancy in the Legal sector, it will undoubtedly increase and BigHand looks well positioned to adapt.”
