“Meet Me” in Westchester for New Year Attractions

Celebrate New Year’s Eve
Light up the night at the 16th Annual New Year’s Eve Spectacular in White Plains starting at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 31 – the biggest outdoor stage event in Westchester that ushers in the New Year. Main and Court Streets will be closed off for the celebration. Entertainment will be provided by a DJ and live music from Larger than Life, a group of versatile and nationally recognized performers who feature "The Ultimate Boyband Tribute," singing hits from The Jackson 5, The Beatles, The Temptations, Four Seasons, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC and many more. Then, the City of White Plains will ring in the New Year with an illuminated ball drop, confetti and a spectacular fireworks display at midnight. Get Outdoors
On December 30, visit the Wolf Conservation Center in Westchester County and learn about the mythology, biology and ecology of wolf families while also discovering why it’s a special time for packs in North America. Whether the wolves are living on the Arctic tundra or the high desert of the southwest, wolf families are out searching for prey as their pups prepare for their first winter season. Guests will visit Ambassador Wolves Atka, Alawa, Nikai and Zephyr as well as the Center’s critically endangered red wolves and Mexican gray wolves. Pre-registration is required. Plan ahead and don’t miss Teatown’s River EagleFest at Croton Point Park on Saturday, February 6. Winter is the time of year when bald eagles return to the Hudson Valley in large numbers. The eagles tend to congregate while crossing the Croton River on Rte. 9A. Join Teatown’s 12th celebration. Amazing live raptor shows will be held throughout the day. Additional activities range from guided and independent eagle viewing, bus tours, storytelling, a tent with children’s programs and activities, bird walks and displays from 30 area organizations. Entertaining and educational shows take place all day under heated tents and food for purchase will be provided by the Wobble Café. Parking is free at the park. The second annual Westchester’s Winter Wonderland is underway and designed to be bigger and better this year with several new features for families to enjoy. The New York Rangers will sponsor the ice skating rink, which is the same size as the rink at Rockefeller Center in New York City. To be named “RangersTown,” the rink will give visitors the opportunity to meet New York Rangers alumni and receive fun giveaways. Other new features to the event include an amusement ride, a Shopping Village of artisan crafts and gifts, as well as a new heated entertainment tent with holiday programming to add to signature attractions that include the Santa Experience.
