Solix Joins the Hortonworks Technology Partner Program and Achieves HDP Certification
Santa Clara, California (PRWEB) December 15, 2015 -- Solix Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) solutions, today announced that it has joined the Hortonworks® Technology Partner Program and has successfully completed required integration testing, thereby achieving Hortonworks’ Certification for the Solix Big Data Suite. Solix will integrate the Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP™) with the Solix Big Data Suite to enable Enterprise Archiving on Apache Hadoop. Solix’s customers can now benefit from enhanced integration with Apache™ Hadoop® to improve enterprise application performance dramatically reduce operational cost and position enterprise data for advanced analytics.
By achieving certification, Solix will simplify and accelerate the deployment of modern data architectures with pre-built and validated integrations between leading enterprise technologies and HDP, the industry’s only 100-percent open source Hadoop distribution. To certify partner technologies, Hortonworks reviews each product for architectural best practices, validates it against a comprehensive suite of integration test cases and performs benchmarks for scale under varied workloads, while comprehensively documenting every step in the process.
With the integration of HDP, Solix Enterprise Archiving on the Solix Big Data Suite enables low cost bulk storage of all enterprise data in Apache Hadoop, and users are able to access both structured and unstructured data with powerful text search as well as traditional structured reports.
“Open Enterprise Hadoop is an ideal platform for Enterprise Archiving and Information Lifecycle Management,” said John Ottman, Executive Chairman of Solix. “We are proud to partner with and be certified by Hortonworks.”
Architected for the enterprise, HDP was built by the core architects, builders and operators of Apache Hadoop and includes all of the necessary components to manage a cluster at scale and uncover business insights from existing and new big data sources. With a YARN-based architecture, HDP enables multiple workloads, applications and processing engines across single clusters with optimal efficiency. A reliable, secure and multi-use enterprise data platform, HDP is an important component of the modern data architecture, helping organizations mine, process and analyze large batches of unstructured data sets to make more informed business decisions.
“Hortonworks is dedicated to expanding and empowering the Apache Hadoop ecosystem, accelerating innovation and adoption of Open Enterprise Hadoop,” said Matt Morgan, vice president of product and alliance marketing at Hortonworks. “We are pleased to welcome Solix to the Apache Hadoop community and look forward to working with them to help strengthen Hadoop’s role as the foundation of the next-generation data architecture. The relationship will help accelerate successful implementations of the Solix Big Data Suite and the Hortonworks Data Platform across the modern data architecture.”
