Generally regarded as the “Father of Financial Planning”, Loren Dunton organized financial professionals in the late sixties and with their help created the financial planning movement. Dunton developed associations, magazines, colleges, university programs and foundations. He was able to use his experiences to frankly explain what all financial advisors now recognize - that the ethical sales of financial products and the delivery of competent advice is a noble calling. Loren Dunton was a man of vision who cared deeply about both financial advisors and consumers. This award is to “honor a person who has made a substantial contribution to the financial services profession and/or the financial interest of the public.”
The 2015 recipient, Jon Rogers has more than 40 years of experience in financial investment with a Ph.D. in financial management. With quantifications in asset management, Jon specializes in the development of financial plans with major emphasis on wealth accumulation, retirement planning, investment planning and estate planning. As an Adjunct Professor at Webster University and North Greenville University, he teaches finance, marketing and business. Currently he serves on the Board of Directors of the IARFC and holds the office of Treasurer. He is associated with Royal Alliance Associates who have been corporate sponsors for the National Financial Plan Competition. “I am deeply appreciative of this meaningful award and the history behind it,” said Rogers. “I feel grateful for the path my life has taken and the ability to help my clients achieve peace and prosperity as they look to retirement. It has been an honor to serve.”
In bestowing the Loren Dunton Memorial Award, the IARFC recognizes Roger’s contribution to Loren Dunton’s vision and his mission to help the public and their advisors. “Not only has Jon achieved financial success and recognition in his career, said Bailey, “He is a caring human being and dedicated to his family – which in the end is most important of all.”
