TROY, Mich. (PRWEB) December 16, 2015
North American Bancard (NAB), an award-winning industry leader in credit card processing and provider of the PayAnywhere point-of-sale solution, has partnered with Volunteers of America Michigan to sponsor its Adopt A Family program. This year, NAB has committed to sponsor 100 families in the program across the Metro Detroit area, providing them with gifts, toys, clothing and a holiday meal.
Since 1993, Volunteers of America Michigan’s Adopt A Family program has been serving families, seniors and veterans in need across Michigan, through direct adoption or financial contribution. The program brings encouragement, hope and joy, as well as gifts and meals to those living in poverty during the holidays, making the season a little brighter. In 2014, the program served over 9,000 individuals.
“There are many people who are in need of assistance here in Metro Detroit and we want to ensure that as many of them as possible have a wonderful holiday season,” said Terri Harwood, chief operations officer of North American Bancard. “NAB's employees are some of the most generous and caring individuals I've ever had the privilege of knowing. I am thrilled at how committed they are to doing everything they can to bring cheer and joy to the families in the Adopt A Family program.”
North American Bancard employees that adopt a family will be providing at least one new toy and outfit for every child in the family as well as the means for each family to get a holiday meal. This support of Adopt A Family is only one element of the support that NAB has provided and will continue to provide to Volunteers of America Michigan. Recently NAB provided a monetary donation to the organization through raising funds with their employee holiday party and also sponsored the Volunteers of America Michigan Holidays of Hope Program.
"We are very pleased and grateful for North American Bancard's partnership with Volunteers of America in so many of our programs, and we're glad to have them involved in such a big way with Adopt A Family this year,” said Erin Ledy, community engagement manager, Volunteers of America Michigan. “Many more lives are being touched because of their generosity.”
Anyone is welcome to support the Adopt A Family program and NAB would like to encourage others to participate in the program this holiday season. Just as with the corporate program, individuals may choose to provide gifts and a holiday meal for a specific family, or they may make a financial donation. Contributions of any amount are appreciated. Those interested in adopting a family or making a financial contribution may visit http://adoptafamilymichigan.org for more details.
