Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto Prepares to Tee-Off Danzante Bay Golf Course
Islands of Loreto, Baja California Sur, Mexico (PRWEB) December 16, 2015 -- Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto is preparing to open what “U.S. Open Doctor” and world-renowned golf architect Rees Jones calls one of the best courses in golf this coming February.
Slated for a February 2016 opening, just in time for Valentine’s Day, the 7,400-yard Rees Jones-designed Danzante Bay Golf Course will offer golfers a chance to play amidst the majestic Sierra de la Giganta mountains and indigo waters of the Sea of Cortez for a challenging, yet friendly golf experience.
“Danzante Bay Golf Course offers a mixture of three types of courses, melding the mountain and desert views of those in Sedona, calming ocean views like those of Pebble Beach, and lush natural beauty similar to Manele Golf Course in Lanai, Hawaii, all rolled into one ideal setting for a weekend golf getaway,” said Owen Perry, co-owner and president of Villa Group. “We can’t wait until guests have an opportunity to tee-off at Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto.”
The first golf course in the Villa Group portfolio, Danzante Bay Golf Course melds with the natural beauty and serenity of its surrounding environment, giving golf aficionados the ability to challenge their game through a variety of settings, including valleys, arroyos, foothills and dunes, as well as a lake between holes 10 and 11.
While all holes showcase a mixture of amazing sights of Danzante Bay, the Islands of Loreto, and the Sierra de la Giganta mountain range, Hole 17 is the crown jewel of the course, with a stunning panoramic view of Montserrat Island.
“I have no doubt that Hole 17 at Danzante Bay Golf Course will be one of the best in the world,” said Jones, who has designed or redesigned more than 170 golf courses in his career.
The course utilizes Paspalum turf, a surface that is particularly suited to the climate of the Baja region and complements the topography of the site. A noted environmentalist, Jones designed the course with a number of eco-friendly measures in mind, including transplanting and relocating native plants, using organic fertilizers instead of hazardous chemicals, and maintaining the course with treated water and the use of solar energy for water heating needs.
The golf course will also include a safari-style clubhouse with two luxury tents facing a picturesque view of Danzante Bay, a full restaurant, bar and Pro shop. Golf lessons with a professional instructor will also be available. Other features include a driving range and an 18-hole putting course that will be a miniature version of the larger course where families can practice together.
Golfers and travelers who want to be among the first to tee-off at Danzante Bay Golf Course can take advantage of a special package starting at $398 per person (based on double occupancy) that includes three nights in a Deluxe Studio Room and unlimited golf during their stay, which includes use of a golf cart and access to the driving range and putting green. The offer is valid for guests who book between now and December 16, 2016, for travel between February 14, 2016 and December 20, 2016.
