StaySafe is pleased to announce that the StaySafe app is now supported by Inmarsat’s global L-band satellite network coverage, ensuring reliable access to critical data from remote sites anywhere in the world.

"As we all have smart devices with GPS capabilities, combining that with StaySafe app and Inmarsat’s global, reliable network, is a simple way to ensure that no matter where you might go, there is always someone watching your back.”

The partnership brings together StaySafe; a BS8484 accredited lone worker safety solution consisting of an app and cloud-based Hub, and Inmarsat; a global mobile satellite communication provider.

The StaySafe app, which utilises data and mobile connectivity, offers a wide range of functions including a panic button, working session expiry, GPS tracking, inactivity and duress alerts making it a powerful device for protecting lone working employees.

By partnering with Inmarsat, StaySafe customers can now also utilise satellite coverage to monitor employees in areas where there is little or no mobile signal, anywhere in the world.

Commenting on the partnership Nadeem Khan, Head of applications enablement, Inmarsat Enterprise said: “Personal safety is high on Inmarsat’s agenda. As we all have smart devices with GPS capabilities, combining that with StaySafe app and Inmarsat’s global, reliable network, is a simple way to ensure that no matter where you might go, there is always someone watching your back.”

Don Cameron, CEO StaySafe comments: “This partnership is a fantastic development for any organisation which has responsibility for employees who travel and work off the beaten track. Utilising satellite coverage allows us to offer employers a lone worker device that can monitor employee safety anywhere in the world, with no reduction in functionality or accuracy. Now StaySafe incorporates Inmarsat’s satellite network, the issues caused to employers by mobile blackspots are fast becoming a thing of the past.”
