Big Grow House Announces Availability of Big Grow House Commercial Cultivation Platform
North Berwick, ME (PRWEB) December 18, 2015 -- “After a yearlong process of design, development, and testing we are announcing general availability of the Big Grow House Platform product’ said Stewart Hair, Co-Founder at Big Grow House.
A Year in the Making
In the Fall of 2014 a small group, comprised of data center professionals and a medical marijuana caregiver in Maine put pencil to paper and began sketching out a prototype for a common form factor platform that scaled in physical dimension, cost, and revenue production while insuring an environmentally stable solution to significantly reduce three major environmental risks to growers – temperature, humidity, and light. ‘After a multi month design effort, we commenced building the prototype in the Spring of 2015 working through site selection, construction of a building, and ultimately the working prototype of the Big Grow House platform’ Hair added. The platform consists of specially sourced shipping containers, with over 7,000 watts of lighting, a commercial HVAC system, highly reflective interior, emergency lighting, and other components to tightly control the environment in which to grow, in an aesthetically pleasing standard sized product. Hair commented ‘Through the entire process we validated our existing skills in site selection, utility design, engineering, construction, permitting, and ultimately growing based on 20+years in the data center industry. This means we deliver a complete solution vs. a box or a project fraught with headaches and requiring skillsets and expertise across a number of disciplines. We’ve designed the Big Grow House to compress the time it takes licensed growers to start growing and then insure consistent production. In new markets it’s a massive competitive advantage”.
Big Grow House Commercial Cultivation Platform Availability
Big Grow House Commercial Cultivation Platform consists of multiple units per platform – both Veg Units and Flower Units - all using a common footprint at a cost of $100,000 per unit that are configured into a platform that support a perpetual harvest methodology. The Units are manufactured and delivered over a multi week period to dovetail the growing cycle of the plants and to spread out cash flow. The payback time is between 4-11 months using the Big Grow House product and methodology and is further backed by Big Grow House ‘Grow Coach’ services. ‘The ability to generate $10,000+ per square foot their first year in a small low risk footprint and to know that we will help them hit their numbers with our GrowCoach support is very attractive to growers and investors for both medical and recreational marijuana cultivation” said Hair.
The company is located in New England and has deployed the product with its first customer using the Big Grow House in Maine.
