WHAT: Chester, PA, December 17, 2015 – On Friday, December 18, 2015, Santa Claus will visit more than 1,000 kindergarten and first graders, on the East, West and Upland campuses of Chester Community Charter School (CCCS), the largest K-8 charter school in Pennsylvania, and will hand-deliver presents and toys to each student for the holiday season.
The toys and gifts are provided by The Gureghian Foundation, which is led by Vahan Gureghian, CEO of CSMI, the school’s management company, and his wife, Danielle. This year, the contribution value is approximately $18,000. Mr. and Mrs. Gureghian have donated nearly $470,000 to Santa Brigade gifts, for the charter school’s students, since the program’s inception, in 1998.
The Santa Brigade program is currently in its 16th year, and was established as an initiative to ensure that each Chester Community Charter School student would feel included, and would receive a gift for the holiday, regardless of their family’s financial standing.
Students in grades second through eighth will participate in various classroom holiday parties.
