Elliance’s Website for Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation Wins Multiple Web Design Awards in Health Care Sector

Website makes it easier to understand the certification process

Elliance was recently awarded the silver award in the 16th Annual eHealthcare Leadership Awards in the category of best site design for developing the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) website. The award was granted by Strategic Heath Care Communications, which recognizes the best websites and digital communications efforts of health care organizations, online health companies, pharmaceutical firms, and business improvements initiatives.

This was not, however, the first award Elliance received for ONCC’s website redesign. In September the integrated marketing agency was also awarded the Health Care Standard of Excellence in the Web Marketing Association’s 2015 WebAwards.

In developing the ONCC website, Elliance was given the task of creating a site that would encourage oncology nurses to become certified and to share the necessary steps for maintaining/renewing certification with those already certified. They also set out to meet the clients three business goals: improving navigation to reduce customer service calls, increasing the number of oncology nurses who obtain advanced certification, and increasing the number of certification renewals.

“We were looking for a website redesign project, and achieved so much more,” explained Pam Asfahani, Communications and Marketing Manager for ONCC. “Elliance helped us crystallize the purpose of our site, identify measurable goals, and develop the strategy to reach those goals through the website. The end result was more than a new look, it was a new way of thinking.”

The site’s homepage features rotating statistics to help nurses quickly learn the benefits of becoming certified, along with information on eligibility, steps to certification, types of certifications, and test center locations. The site features various visual display elements such as infographics, videos and photos of real nurses to add to the aesthetic appeal and present information in an engaging format.

“It is always nice to see our work recognized,” said Elliance CEO and founder, Abu Noaman, “however, at Elliance it is always about doing everything possible to meet our client’s business objectives—they are our priority.”
