Village Green Apothecary (http://www.myvillagegreen.com) is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary this month, focusing on personalized healthcare for our generation. The best kept secret you want to know about, Village Green is changing the way we think about healthcare. From staffing to product offerings, Village Green’s professional staff takes a consultative approach to each customer’s needs. It is very rare to find companies with employees with over three decades of service, but at Village Green this is an everyday occurance.
Brian Riordan came to Village Green on July 22, 1977 and is still here today. He vividly recalls a time when Village Green was so small that they needed to get additional prescriptions from a local hospital pharmacy in order to fill their client’s requests, so they traded them for pastrami sandwiches, until they could pay the bill or replace the capsules. “This is a family and has always been one. Our founding fathers, Mickey and Irv, built a business and a culture that supported family-oriented values and Marc has kept it that way. Mickey and Irv brought coaching and opportunities to the staff and the customers and their families and were true visionaries when they started this business. All of this continues today with our compounding pharmacy, nutritional coaching, consultation, and more” said Riordan.
Ron Keech is the longest continuously working employee at Village Green. For almost four decades, Ron has been making prescriptions for humans and animals alike, and saving lives in the process. His compounding pharmacy role is like none other. He says it is more fulfilling than he ever imagined. “I started as a pharmacist and when they added the compounding pharmacy I was the natural person to run it. I enjoy solving little puzzles which have a big impact on how people live,” said Keech. “I started at Village Green with an internship in pharmacy school and never left because I like having input in things and here I am able to do the research necessary and work with a team that understands allergies, nutrition, and all the other things that go into medical treatment.”
Regardless of your needs, Village Green Apothecary offers a place for everything. “What is truly special is that patients are treated as individuals. We look at all the options available for their treatment before recommending a solution. We are not a ‘one size fits all’ healthcare facility,” said Keech.
Personalized healthcare is a core value of Marc Issacson, the owner of Village Green Apothecary. He suggests that, “in today’s world, we need to look at all the things that can cause and/or prevent disease in our patients. When we truly personalize and integrate, we get the full picture of the problem. That is when we can treat all aspects of it and become an even more proactive partner with our customer.”
Village Green Apothecary is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary with a special sale running for fifty days, as well as additional special offers. Village Green Apothecary is located at 5415 West Cedar Lane in Bethesda, Maryland or can be found on the web at http://www.myvillagegreen.com.
