To date, less than 1,000 physicians have received the Board Certification in Clinical Informatics since the examination was first administered in October 2013.
With over 35 years of direct patient care experience in emergency medicine, Dr. Owen maintains an active practice at Heart Hospital of Austin (Austin, TX) and Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center (Waco, TX). Dr. Owen has a long history as a healthcare information technology entrepreneur tackling the clinical, operational and financial challenges facing our healthcare delivery system; including founding EmSTAT in 1988, a pioneer product in Emergency Department Information Systems that is still actively used today in emergency departments across the country.
