CHX|ISO powder is especially ideal for protein fortification in addition to its food ingredient uses, so it garnered a lot of interest from food- and health-centric companies.

International Dehydrated Foods, Inc. (IDF™) representatives this week discussed their recent trip to the annual IFT Expo in Chicago, where they showcased the company’s naturally complete ingredients and participated in discussions on upcoming food trends that will impact the food industry in 2016.
IDF attended the 2015 Chicago IFT Expo to present a variety of its ingredients and products, focusing the spotlight on its highly digestible protein powders, SIP™ Bone Broth Powder and CHX|ISO™. Both powders are naturally derived and cater to the trend of using chicken broth for nutritional purposes as well as traditional flavor enhancement. As numerous experts discussed at the expo, this trend will only increase in popularity during the new year.
The concentrated chicken powder CHX|ISO, which IDF brought to market earlier this year, attracted positive attention from soup manufacturers and supplement companies alike, according to IDF Account Executive Lori Spurlock. “Our CHX|ISO powder is especially ideal for protein fortification in addition to its food ingredient uses, so it garnered a lot of interest from food- and health-centric companies at this year’s IFT Expo,” said Spurlock. “We also shared our products with technical teams from functional food companies and professionals from distribution networks that have an interest in discovering up-and-coming ingredients and food products. Overall, the show was well attended, and opened the door to building some great new relationships.”
IDF representatives shared their flavor expertise by providing sample recipes at the expo as well. “At the IDF booth, we demoed crisps and high protein cauliflower chowder, which we made with our naturally derived protein powder,” said Marketing Communications Manager Erin Danastasio. “We also handed out SIP™ Bone Broth packets for people to take home and make.” Danastasio added that the Chicago IFT Expo is generally the largest table top show IDF attends, so seeing its customer base in that environment and having the opportunity to share samples of IDF products in person is something the company look forwards to every year.
The Chicago IFT Expo is an annual event that brings the food industry’s largest collection of worldwide food and ingredient trends, packaging suppliers and equipment together in one location. The expo features educational seminars, forums and exhibitor halls and draws more than 3,000 food professionals together, as stated on the IFT16 event website.
