Innovaacom Expands Continuing Education Service Offerings to Include Nurses
Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) December 24, 2015 -- Innovaacom, a leading provider of medical education and training for healthcare professionals worldwide, today announced it is expanding its curriculum in 2016 to include continuing education programs for advanced nurses and nurse researchers. The decision follows the successful fourth quarter pilot of the program that educates nurses in how to prepare and develop effective research abstracts for medical conferences and trade journal publication. The courses, which piloted in the United Kingdom, were attended by advanced nurses who are studying various aspects of illness to improve health care outcomes and services.
“We are excited to continue to grow our reach by offering professional development courses that are exclusively designed for nurses and that will help keep their practices aligned with the best available scientific evidence,” shared Innovaacom President Ornella Vincenzino. Of all abstracts written by nurses, only 18% are subsequently published according to a 2015 study by Wiley Periodicals which concludes the trend may be hindering the translation of key findings into clinical practice.
The Innovaacom nursing continuing education course called Mastering Effective Abstracts provides nurses with guidelines on writing abstracts for international congresses and is designed to improve publication success rates. “This is the best course I have ever attended on this subject. It is brilliantly well put together and really on point with what is needed,” said one attendee. Early results from the pilot program and survey of nurses show that 100% of those who took the course now feel more confident in preparing research and developing an abstract and more than 70% indicated the program exceeded their expectations.
Since 2007, Innovaacom has collaborated with industry leaders to prepare today’s healthcare professionals for tomorrow’s science and medicine. To date, nearly 11,000 nurses, physicians and pharmacists in more than 32 countries from across Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa, China and the Middle East have benefited from the programs that close medical knowledge gaps and positively impact clinical practice and public health policy.
