It's an all too common problem that when a website design firm finishes their work, the business owner then has no one to rely on for common support issues.
The common practice in the industry is for the website developer to suggest a website host to the client, and then place the website files on that host's servers and consider the job done. Unfortunately, low price is typically a deciding factor on where to host the website, and that low price may mean the future performance of the website is degraded.
Modern websites are built using Content Management Systems (CMS), and these systems need periodic maintenance and upgrades to prevent hacking and other issues that may arise.
In addition, when a website is placed on a cheap host, there may not be any backup systems in place. If the website files or database are compromised, either by malicious activity or by equipment failure on the hosting server, the website could be lost forever.
Support is another issue that can arise. While nearly all website hosting companies provide support for their services, this support is typically limited to addressing issues with the hosting environment and not support for changes to the website itself.
Starting in 2003, BCS Website Services saw an opportunity to better serve their clients and decided to offer to host the websites they develop for clients. This allowed the firm to easily take care of normal change requests like adding a new photo or updating the text on a page. But it also provided an opportunity for BCS to take responsibility for making sure that behind the scenes upgrades and improvements were made on a regular schedule. Over the years this service has grown to the point that BCS now employs a full-time Client Care Dispatcher to field support request from hundreds of clients, and a development team to implement changes and maintain the websites.
Recently BCS launched a new website that spotlights the availability of these website hosting and support services. In addition, clients can login to their support portal directly from the new website.
The company's founder, Frank Petrov, said "2015 was an exciting year for the company. Adding a Client Care Dispatcher to take care of support requests from our hosting clients was a big win for the company and our clients, and now we can typically complete most normal support requests in just an hour or two."
On the new website, users can get a full description of the hosting and support services at https://www.bcswebsiteservices.com/Web-Site-Hosting/. The full hosting agreement is also available for review.
