Selecting stocks is complex, and complex, relational data is often best communicated through visualization.

InformedTrades is proud to release the Visual Stock Screener -- a stock screener that allows investors and traders to screen for US-listed stocks against a variety of attributes, and then see the tickers that meet the criteria specified by the filters plotted visually. The screener is primarily oriented towards income investors at the moment, as the y-axis measures the dividend yield while filtering allows for traders to select criteria that are primarily of interest to dividend seeking investors. As the user adjusts the filter inputs, the plot updates dynamically to reflect the stocks that meet the criteria specified.

"Selecting stocks is complex -- and complex, relational data is often best communicated through visualization," said InformedTrades founder Simit Patel. "We felt creating an intuitive, visual stock screener filled an important void in the marketplace while further advancing our mission of helping traders learn to trade."

The screener is currently in beta, though a set of new features is already in development. The current road map includes:

1. Allowing stocks to be filtered on segment
2. Including data on indices to be calculated
3. Creating a pre-built portfolio of stocks available through Motif Investing
4. Automatically identifying statistical aberrations
5. The ability to track and visualize one's performance
6. Allow sophisticated traders/investors to customize what metrics and dimensions of stocks they wish to plot when screening
7. Creating customized versions of the screener for funds, research organizations, and brokerages that allow them to visualize their unique data and insights

To assist achieving this partial road map and more, InformedTrades is also seeking partners to further distribute and develop the Visual Stock Screener. In the short term, InformedTrades plans to continue development of the screener using the R statistical programming language while also building a data warehouse that synthesizes a variety of information from sources around the web that will enable a wide variety of longer term statistical analyses.

To supplement the Visual Stock Screener, InformedTrades continues to provides reviews of products and services that help traders learn, such as the recently reviewed FXS Analytics. Moreover, InformedTrades also continues to produce series of educational videos -- like its video series on Income Investing -- that are freely distributed on YouTube and are meant to help invesetors and traders learn to use the Visual Stock Screener and other products geared towards finding and capitalizing upon investment opportunities.
