Shoulder arthritis is very common and can cause severe pain in affected individuals. This makes performing many daily and regular activities difficult. In addition, productivity may go down due to difficulties at work and inability to stay active due to shoulder pain.
Treatment and shoulder arthritis pain management is complex and varies from one individual to the next. This educational seminar will focus on explaining shoulder arthritis, risk factors and its symptoms. Further, treatment strategies from nonoperative modalities such as injections to operative interventions such as shoulder replacement surgeries will be discussed. The basics of shoulder replacement, what to expect and longevity will be discussed.

Dr. Anakwenze, founder of Olympus Orthopedics Medical Group, is a board certified and award winning shoulder, elbow and sports surgeon practicing in San Diego. With medical and orthopedic surgery training from the Mayo clinic, University of Pennsylvania and Columbia University where he assisted the team doctors for the New York Yankees, he strives to deliver a superior level of skill and care to each and every patient. He is also involved in research that is helping push the field of Orthopedics further. He is very active in teaching and enjoys helping patients and family understand and cope with their ailments through seminars such as this.
