Hyatt Regency Phoenix hotel supports the Emergency Food Box Program as it helps award $12,000 community grant

Hyatt Regency Phoenix is proud to announce its support of St. Mary’s Food Bank this year with a $12,000 giving grant courtesy of Hyatt’s Community Grants program. The St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance and the downtown Phoenix hotel have partnered several times over the years to help give back to the community and assist families in need. This latest partnership helps fund the Emergency Food Box Program, which helps families who experience a crisis, such as fires, floods or the loss of a job.

Over the years, Hyatt has supported St. Mary’s through Pack and Sort activities and donations, where many volunteers help sort through donated food and then pack it into boxes for distribution to local residents in crisis. Each Emergency Food Box contains a three-day supply of well-balanced, nutritional food including frozen, fresh and refrigerated products. The food helps families who are suffering from a crisis ensure they have whatever they need to take care of their loved ones while awaiting insurance money or waiting for their house to be repaired or rebuilt.

The Hyatt Community Grants program is proud to honor and award grants to some of the world’s most beneficial non-profits and charities. Since 2008, Hyatt has helped direct more than $2.35 million to 197 nonprofits in 43 countries around the world. The program has awarded more than $350,000 to 31 nonprofits over the past year and will continue to work toward bettering communities across the globe in the years to come.
