The Carneros wine region is a unique AVA with its characteristics based on cool climate and on its geographic features – the Proximity to the San Francisco Bay, and the Coast Mountain Ranges – that affect the region's terroir and put a distinctive stamp on its grapes.
“We have purchased grapes from this property for years, often blending select lots into our Rutherford Ranch line of Chardonnays. When the Branagan family, which has owned the property since the early 1900’s, said they wanted to sell the vineyard, my family jumped at the opportunity. 2015 will be our first harvest as owners and plan on using the fruit in our Rutherford Ranch and Scott brand portfolio. We have exciting plans for a new brand using select blocks from the property as well. We are thrilled to be land owners in the unique and highly sought after region.”
