Danny Stith otherwise known as Danny from Sobrante is back at it again; making music for the Hustlas and D-Boys, with his newest release from the "ShoeBox Money" project called “Gutta” http://ow.ly/RCcyf. Filmed and Directed by Dre Priest, the video and lyrics take viewers into a quick glimpse in the day in the life of a gutta, street dude from grimey Sobrante Park, East Oakland. Sobrante Park is a small subdivision of East Oakland, California, that has been notoriously crime-ridden since the 1980's. Danny's rap name clearly pays homage to his neighborhood and the ghetto that taught him the rules of the game of street life. Danny embodies the epitome of what a Real Oakland street musician should be.
“Gutta” is the 4th video released from the "ShoeBox Money" record along with other videos from the project “Work on Deck”,“Fitted and Shades”, and “You and Me”. Danny is not new to this Rap arena he has been around the Oakland and Bay Area rap scene for sometime now and has gained regional success. Danny is a multidimensional man, artist, entrepreneur, and community trendsetter. You may have noticed the clothing line of Mouthpiece Society that is prominently featured throughout the video; that is just one of Danny's entrepreneurial endeavors. This new “Gutta” video is just an appetizer released to prepare you for the main course and let you know that Danny from Sobrante is still a uniquely talented and lyrical force to be considered out of the Bay Area. Danny's swagger filled style and confidence is evident in his delivery verse after verse . Danny can make you cry, dance, or deliver a substantial message, as he paints a vivid picture with his words and stories of the Grind and underworld mentality. While encompassing the realities of street culture, he also sprinkles light on the importance of being a man, fatherhood, and faith. Recently, Danny has appeared as an opening performer at an Adidas launch event for Dame Lilliard of The Portland Trailblazers first signature shoe “ Dlilliard1 ” in early 2015 in Oregon. He has participated in the acclaimed #4BarFriday IG Challenge and made his mark as quite the contender who could hold his own. He has traveled and performed with esteemed Bay Area artist such as Too Short and the late “ Jacka” that he credits with a lot of his growth in the rap game and pays homage too. Danny from Sobrante is continuously working on building and promoting his brands.
