Belvoir Federal Receives America Saves Designation of Savings Excellence for Credit Unions
Woodbridge, VA (PRWEB) May 28, 2015 -- On Wednesday, May 20, 2015, Belvoir Federal Credit Union received the America Saves Designation of Savings Excellence for Credit Unions, a new designation that recognizes credit unions that go above and beyond to encourage people to save money during America Saves Week.
In 2015, America Saves and credit union leaders recognized credit unions that did exceptional work to promote savings among their members and communities. “It is a great honor to be recognized for how Belvoir Federal helps our members with their finances. This designation signifies that we are empowering our members to save for their future,” stated Patricia Kimmel, CEO/President of Belvoir Federal Credit Union.
Belvoir Federal, along with the other recipients of the Designation, were recognized at the America Saves National Savings Forum. “For years, banks and credit unions have participated in America Saves Week by offering incentives to encourage individuals to save money and build wealth,” said Nancy Register, National Director of America Saves. “This year, America Saves is excited to recognize credit unions that went above and beyond to encourage individuals to save with the new America Saves Designation of Excellence.”
America Saves Week is an annual opportunity for credit unions to encourage individuals to save money – with an emphasis on reaching low-to moderate-income families. America Saves is recognizing exceptional credit unions that succeed in promoting savings or other wealth building accounts and have high levels of accounts opened or added to during America Saves Week 2015.
