‘Fidelity’ explores what is most crucial in human relationships
CHICAGO (PRWEB) January 21, 2015 -- “I was inspired to write ‘Fidelity’ (published by Xlibris) by my great interest in opera and my fascination with the founder of the Chicago Lyric Opera,” says author Ted Gross.
Concerned with what he sees to be a central tension in most people’s lives — the conflict between work and love, career and marriage — Gross set out to pen a novel around it within the world of grand opera. He tells a story centering on Mark Feldman who is torn between the opportunities for professional fame and the preservation of his marriage. Mesmerized by the manager of the Chicago Grand Opera, Gloria Winthrop, he joins her in trying to realize unrealistic goals at the expense of his marriage to a woman, Brenda Feldman, who has sacrificed her teaching career to be with him in Chicago.
“Most people in marital relationships or partnerships have to resolve the tensions between work and love as well as resolve the conflicts involved between great expectations in business (in this case, an opera company) and acceptance of reality,” says Gross.
In reading his story, Gross hopes that people would get a sense of what is most crucial in a human relationship.
