Dickinson Wright Expands into Lexington, Ky. with New Office
LEXINGTON, Ky. (PRWEB) February 03, 2015 -- Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce the opening of the firm’s Lexington, Kentucky office. The firm is welcoming eight attorneys to open the office with plans for additional growth in the near future. Nearly all of the attorneys began their legal careers with Greenebaum Doll & McDonald.
Located at 300 West Vine Street, Suite 1700, the firm’s Lexington office will solidify a regional presence that also includes offices in Nashville, Tennessee and Columbus, Ohio. Dickinson Wright also has regional offices in Phoenix, Arizona, Las Vegas, Nevada, Washington, D.C., Toronto, and six offices throughout Michigan.

Kimberly H. Bryant, Member – Ms. Bryant’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, including mineral transactions; general corporate representation, including organizational and planning matters for closely-held companies; commercial real estate development and land use; and finance. She is a member of the Fayette County Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association and the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation. Ms. Bryant is active in the community and serves as Vice Chairperson for the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Address Enforcement Hearing Board. She received her B.A. from Morehead State University and her J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law.
Jeffrey L. Gehring, Member – Mr. Gehring practices in the areas of estate and wealth transfer planning, including preparing wills, trusts, disability documents and marital agreements; estate and trust administration, including fiduciary representation and tax reporting; and asset protection and small business planning, including family limited partnerships and limited liability companies. Mr. Gehring is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the Fayette County Bar Association. He is recognized by Kentucky Super Lawyers as a leader in his field. Mr. Gehring received his B.A. from Asbury College and his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law.
Brian M. Johnson, Member – Mr. Johnson’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, RICO and securities fraud, environmental and toxic tort litigation, and white collar criminal law. He has served as lead counsel for clients involved in class actions, business disputes, environmental litigation, and RICO cases. Mr. Johnson is recognized as a leader in his field by Best Lawyers of America and Kentucky Super Lawyers. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Fayette County Bar Association, the Ohio Bar Association, and the Energy and Mineral Law Foundation. Mr. Johnson is a frequent speaker and lecturer on environmental, litigation, and corporate topics including speaking at the Annual Kentucky Energy Management Conference, the Annual Kentucky Environmental Conference, and the Energy and Mineral Law Foundation Conference. He received his B.A. from Transylvania University and his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law.
David A. Owen, Member – Mr. Owen represents businesses in a variety of complex commercial litigation matters. His litigation practice includes environmental, coal, agribusiness, toxic tort, securities and antitrust matters, as well as all types of business disputes. He also advises a variety of businesses as outside general counsel on corporate governance and litigation issues. Mr. Owen is active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors of the Fayette County Bar Foundation and the Barkley Woods Homeowners’ Association. He is recognized as a leader in his field by Best Lawyers in America and Kentucky Super Lawyers. Mr. Owen received his B.S. from Clemson University and his J.D. from Northern Kentucky University, Salmon P. Chase College of Law.
Henry (Tip) Richmond, Member – Mr. Richmond’s practice consists primarily of advising clients on trust and estate matters, gift and estate tax planning, and closely-held business matters, including succession planning. He represents professionals, executives and business owners in connection with their tax, estate and business planning needs, as well as trust companies and individuals who are serving as fiduciaries of estates and trusts. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel as well as a member of the Fayette County Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, and the Florida Bar Association. Mr. Richmond is active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors of the Junior Achievement of the Bluegrass and the Kentucky Historical Society Foundation, Inc. He is recognized as a leader in the law by Kentucky Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America. Mr. Richmond received his B.A. from Wake Forest University, his J.D. from the University of Louisville School of Law, and his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Miami School of Law.
Matthew A. Stinnett, Member – Mr. Stinnett’s practice includes the litigation of a wide variety of complex business and commercial litigation matters, including those involving premises liability, construction, products liability, trust and estate fiduciary duty litigation, securities, lender liability and general business transactions. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, the Fayette County Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute. Mr. Stinnett was a part of Leadership Lexington’s Class of 2010 and served on the Board of Directors of the Bluegrass Domestic Violence Program and the Lexington Philharmonic. He is recognized as a “Rising Star” by Kentucky Super Lawyers. Mr. Stinnett received his B.A. from Transylvania University and his J.D. from Northern Kentucky University’s Salmon P. Chase College of Law.
Emily M. Dorisio, Of Counsel – Ms. Dorisio’s practice encompasses all aspects of Federal income taxation of businesses and individuals, including entity formation, mergers, acquisitions and other business transactions, as well as the Federal and state income tax and corporate law issues of nonprofit organizations. She is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She is involved with the community through her participation on the Board of Directors for Horsin’ Around Camp, Inc. Ms. Dorisio received her B.B.A. from the University of Kentucky and her J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law.
Tara N. Halbert, Associate – Ms. Halbert handles estate planning and administration for trusts and estates, with an emphasis in gift, estate and GST tax issues. She was the graduate student editor of the Florida Tax Review and also wrote for the Kentucky Journal of Equine, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Law. Ms. Halbert received her B.A. from Georgetown College, her J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law, and her LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida. Ms. Halbert previously worked with Deloitte Tax LLP in Atlanta.
