Franklin County Agricultural Fair Wins Big at Statewide Fair Conference
Franklin County, VA (PRWEB) January 12, 2015 -- The Franklin County Agricultural Fair was a big winner in the Virginia Association of Fairs Communication Awards, earning 17 accolades at the organization’s annual conference, Jan. 8-11 in Hot Springs.
The fair competed against six other events in the 7,000 and Under (attendance) Division and finished with eight first place ribbons, five second place ribbons, one third place ribbon, two Best of Show titles and the top distinction of Best Over All in its category.
“It’s a great accomplishment to be recognized in our first year,” said Tarah Holland, tourism development manager and chair of the fair planning committee. “We are so proud and happy to share these awards with our community, and we look forward to successfully bringing the event back in 2015.”
The Franklin County Agricultural Fair received awards in 14 out of 15 categories in which it submitted entries. The fair earned first place awards in the categories of Billboard, Fair Map, Fair Scrapbook, Newspaper Ad (Color), Radio (ad), Magazine Article, Promotional/Advertising Merchandise and Theme; second place awards in the categories of Flyer, Newspaper Ad (Black and White), Tabloid, T-Shirt and Website; and a third place award in the Poster category. Best of Show awards were given for Newspaper Ad (Color) and Promotional/Advertising Merchandise.
The fair worked with a number of local businesses in the development of fair collateral, including the fair logo, which was created by Giant Step Design, the radio advertisement, which was organized by Super Country 99.9 WZBB-FM and website development by Howl’n Dog Designs.
