MIAMI, Fla. (PRWEB) May 06, 2015 -- As a young father, author Gonzague Dufour used to tell made-up stories to his kids. Forward many years later, they encourage him to put these stories on paper for the enjoyment of their own kids. Such is the underlying motivation that inspired Dufour to pen "Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock... Blue Planet" (published by Xlibris), a wonderfully engaging tale about saving Mother Earth.
"Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock... Blue Planet" follows the story of four friends: a wild boar living in a forest, a polar bear from the North Pole, an elephant in the savannah and a dolphin from the great big Pacific Ocean. These little animals discover that their natural habitats are in danger. Together, they decide to do something to save their home from an impending destruction.
"Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock... Blue Planet" was originally written by the author to attract the children's attention to the most pressing ecological problems of today. The issues being addressed include deforestation, global warming, species extinction and water pollution, among others. All these are colorfully portrayed in a complementing set of illustrations to aid the reader's imagination. The author hopes that the story of the four distant friends could help instill in children a lasting sense of appreciation for the environment.
Encouraging his readers to come up with small solutions in their own little ways, Dufour concludes with an inviting yet equally exacting challenge: "What can you do to protect our beautiful planet?"
