The author Jerry L. Rhoads, who is a CPA and a health care administrator, makes a factual case that government dominance in health care funding and spending will kill competition and enterprise. This has prompted a book that defines the problems and proposes common sense solutions with regards to health care delivery and spending.
According to Rhoads, “this book defines Monopsony the oppressive impact of the government being the buyer of last resort and thereby killing the competition, innovation and creativity represented by a free market. This is not Microsoft monopolizing the software business; it is the dominant government buyer that will kill small businesses, creativity and technology by only paying for treatment, not results. The VA debacle proves that government run health care is not quality based but for the pursuit of power and money.”
“Aging America’s biggest problem is they are expecting unlimited health care services as they get ill rather than preventing such chronic illnesses. By privatizing the responsibility for their own health through payment to the providers for results, will promote prevention not just pushing pills and applying bandages” Rhoads said. This non-fiction book teaches the monopsony principles of economics that are destructive to the providers of care and is destructive to independent buyers of health care. If the Government becomes the buyer of last resort the natural principles of enterprise will be decimated … we currently have the anti-trust rules to prevent Monopolies from doing the same thing.
“Failing Government Taketh Away” (published by Xlibris) shares knowledge of the problems and a practical solution to the Government driven cost model thus, it deals with solutions to problems not just issues debated over Obama Care. The author believes that problems must be solved and not just debating issues between the red and blue parties. This book proposes a third party opinion on how health care must become the responsibility of individuals for their own greater good.
