Belvoir Federal Purchased School Supplies for Fort Belvoir Elementary School
Woodbridge, VA (PRWEB) October 08, 2015 -- Belvoir Federal Credit Union purchased school supplies for Fort Belvoir Elementary School through employee donations.
During Belvoir Federal’s Employee Appreciation Week, funds were collected as a 50/50 raffle with $200 going towards a local elementary school and the remaining balance going towards the lucky raffle winner.
Fort Belvoir Elementary School’s Principal, Theresa Carhart, asked that new clothing for a clothing closet be purchased for students rather than traditional school supplies. These resources would then be available for students who might need a change of clothes throughout the school day.
“Our school is thankful for Belvoir Federal and the partnership we have created. Belvoir Federal’s staff continues to go above and beyond in their support of our school, community, and students. Their most recent donation of items will help us when instances arise where students need a change of clothes,” stated Theresa Carhart.
Ms. Carhart shared that through this donation, they will be able to help students have necessary resources when emergencies arise, maximize instructional time, and minimize pulling parents away from their work to bring a change of clothes.
