Author Dee L. Eldredge has taught Spanish courses for 45 years from beginning, intermediate to advanced levels as well as linguistic, literature and folklore. Given his extensive experience, he has in his head a wealth of ideas and insights with regards to teaching the subjects. He shares his experiences, forms and cards used in the classroom, in “Teaching Spanish, My Way” (published by Xlibris), as well as comprehensive and practical resource information for Spanish teachers/professors.

This book contains Eldredge’s philosophy of teaching and the principles of teaching that he follows. It also contains his suggestions for course and class preparation. As for the subject matter itself, this book discusses Spanish languange rules with general linguistic, syntax, lexical, phonetic and morphological explanations. It also provides some cultural and historical information on Spanish countries. The author also shares copies of the forms and cards that he used in the classroom, which have been requested by many teachers.

This book also covers topics like: being in charge of the classroom, being prepared for everything, grading practices, using time efficiently during class, presenting grammar, implementing oral drills, students speaking as much Spanish as possible during the class and before or after class with the teacher, being courteous, incorporating linguistic, historical and cultural information in the classroom, and many others that will help one be a better teacher.

Dee L. Eldredge has taught Spanish linguistic, literature, folklore, beginning, intermediate and advanced courses for 45 years.
