The 5th Annual Travel & Adventure Show Returns to the Bay Area February 7-8, 2015 Featuring Thousands of Vacation Options
Santa Clara, CA (PRWEB) December 18, 2014 -- The largest travel show series in the U.S. returns to the Santa Clara Convention Center February 7-8, inviting visitors to experience the culture, the sights, the sounds, and even the cuisine that goes along with travel and tourism.
Back for its fifth year in the Bay Area, The Travel & Adventure Show creates a unique experience for visitors, combining celebrity travel experts, seminars, entertaining activities, and over 1,500 travel experts from around the world. These experts will man hundreds of exhibit booths on the show floor imparting local travel knowledge to attendees, and many exhibitors will showcase “show-only” specials. In fact, this year’s show floor is sold out, so organizers contracted the entire expo center to house more exhibits, more destination options and more opportunities for consumers to meet travel experts. The end result is an event that educates and inspires people to experience the joy of travel—no matter if it’s a weekend getaway or a trip of a lifetime.
“Northern Californians have an appetite for travel and adventure, and this show is a great way to experience the world over one weekend through the eyes of well-traveled speakers and experts from around the globe,” stated Unicomm CEO John Golicz, producer of the event.
The Travel & Adventure Show is known for bringing together the most sought-after celebrity travel experts, and this year presents an expanded lineup including: Rick Steves, author and TV host of Rick Steves’ Europe; Travel Channel’s Samantha Brown; Peter Greenberg, Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter and producer, and CBS News Travel Editor; and Patricia Schultz, best-selling author of 1,000 Places to See Before You Die. They are appearing throughout the weekend on the show’s Travel Channel Theater Stage where they will share their travel stories and unique perspectives on the topic of travel. For updated schedules and times, check online at http://www.travelshows.com. Photo opportunities and autographs are welcome following each appearance.
Both international and domestic exhibitors will line the aisles providing invaluable insight and advice about all things travel; destinations, tour operators, travel gear, airlines, and lodging will all be represented. Visitors can learn about destinations as near as Mammoth Lakes, CA and as far as New Zealand, as they have the chance to talk to representatives one-on-one. But it’s not only about where to travel, it’s also about how to travel safely and efficiently with the latest travel gear and technology. So there will be plenty of new travel gadgets to peruse as well.
Along with the exhibitors, the show also presents The Global Beats Stage where dance troupes entertain crowds with amazing cultural dance performances. Some performances are interactive as the dancers invite attendees on stage to learn some basic dance steps. Guests can also jump on a Segway, go rock climbing, and see animals from the Fresno Zoo as part of the family-friendly activities at the expo.
No cultural experience is complete without food. The Taste of Travel Stage hosts talented chefs who entertain and inform audiences with live cooking demonstrations as they create delicious dishes from around the world. Not only can attendees learn new recipes and cooking techniques, but they can also enjoy delicious samples of the international fare after it’s prepared.
“The Travel & Adventure Show provides an intimate, interactive three dimensional experience that not only educates visitors about travel, but also inspires them to take that trip of a lifetime,” says Golicz. “It’s like walking through the world’s best travel guide.”
The event’s national TV media sponsor is Travel Channel. Supporting sponsors include Rick Steves’ Europe; Taiwan Tourism Bureau; and Yosemite/Mariposa County Tourism Bureau. Contributing sponsor for the show is Thailand. Other event sponsors include Sunset Magazine, AFAR magazine and Jetset Extra.
