Simplifile Successfully Completes SOC 2 Type II Audit
PROVO, Utah (PRWEB) April 07, 2015 -- Simplifile, the nation’s largest and leading electronic recording (e-recording) service, has successfully completed the Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type II audit, meeting the SOC 2 criteria and standards for security.
SOC 2, the same audit report used by Amazon Web Services and Google, validates the security of infrastructures and services and is rapidly becoming an industry standard.

The Owen Group, who conducted the audit, verified that Simplifile’s information security practices, policies and procedures met the SOC 2 criteria, stating in the report, “We have examined the description…and the suitability of the design and operating effectiveness of controls to meet the criteria for the security principle set forth in TSP (Trust Service Principles) section 100.”
The Trust Service Principles, which SOC 2 is based upon, are modeled around four broad areas: Policies, Communications, Procedures, and Monitoring. Each principle has defined criteria that must be met to demonstrate adherence to the principles and produce an unqualified opinion, which means no significant exceptions found during the audit.
The security principle audit assesses data centers and their protection against unauthorized access, both physical and logical.
Simplifile regularly reviews the risks that may threaten the achievement of the criteria for the security principle set forth in TSP section 100, Trust Services Principles, Criteria, and Illustrations for Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality, and Privacy (AICPA, Technical Practice Aids).
