DUNN COUNTY, Wis. (PRWEB) August 18, 2015 -- The register of deeds office in Dunn County has implemented electronic recording (e-recording) of documents through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service, giving customers a faster, more cost-effective online recording option.
“By e-recording, we are providing a service to the title industry and lenders that will aid in their compliance with the new CFPB regulations,” said Dunn County Register of Deeds Heather Kuhn.
Using Simplifile’s secure, web-based service, customers ranging from title companies to banks, attorneys, and lien filers, have the ability to scan or upload and submit documents directly to Kuhn’s office and have them recorded, stamped, and returned electronically in minutes.
“E-recording increases office efficiency by reducing the number of steps in the recording process and by reducing mailing costs associated with returning documents. Our customers benefit by being able to follow the time stamp history of a document and a faster turnaround time for rejected documents,” Kuhn added. “E-recording offers customers automated fee submission and digitized image retention rather than paper.”
According to Kuhn, customers can currently submit mortgages, releases, satisfactions, discharges, partial releases, security agreements, subordination agreements, and assignments via e-recording through Simplifile.
“By the end of the year, we should be able to accept most types of documents authorized by law to be recorded.”
Dunn County joins 46 other recording jurisdictions that have adopted Simplifile’s e-recording service in Wisconsin. Nationwide, there are more than 1,270 e-recording counties.
High-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to begin e-recording with Simplifile.
