Neptune Benson is an industry leader in water filtration and disinfection in the municipal, industrial and recreational water markets. Its ETS-UV brand is well established as a leading UV manufacturer.
The Engineering Excellence Awards Competition recognizes projects of engineering achievement by Illinois consulting engineering firms. Entries are judged on the basis of engineering excellence, the degree to which the client's needs are met, and the benefits to the public welfare and private practice of engineering. The highest level of award is an Honor award, which is awarded to a project that is recognized for exceptional engineering that meets the needs of the client and benefit public welfare.
ACEC-Illinois is a statewide business association of over two hundred consulting engineering firms that together employ over ten-thousand engineers, architects, land surveyors, scientists and support personnel. Member firms contract with public and private sector clients designing bridges, buildings, environmental systems, roadways, water supply, waste treatment facilities and complex mechanical and electrical systems.
The project, engineered by Greeley and Hansen, now becomes eligible to compete in the national ACEC Awards.
“We are extremely happy for both Greeley and Hansen and the city of Moline for their recognition on this project" said Ken Rodi CEO of Neptune Benson, "We're also very proud of our role in helping to achieve this recognition. The project was a case study in collaborative engineering; it emphasizes the teamwork that goes into these projects and the strength of our UV engineering."
Neptune Benson broadly utilizes Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to engineer and optimize how its UV systems will perform. This powerful emulation technology allows systems to be engineered to deliver the highest performance for the lowest power and head loss.
